Nonprofit status strengthens tech night!’s mission of inclusivity while fueling expansion from Orange County to Los Angeles and beyond
Orange County, CA – 08/17/2025 – tech night!, a growing community for tech enthusiasts that prioritizes authentic human connection, today announced that it is officially becoming a nonprofit organization. This milestone marks a significant step in advancing the group’s mission to provide inclusive, welcoming spaces for collaboration, learning, and community building for those in or adjacent to the tech industry.
Founded on the belief that tech communities should be about more than networking or transactional exchanges, tech night! has hosted a wide range of events, including social meetups, hackathons, workshops, and talks. Building on its strong foundation in Orange County, the organization recently debuted its first event in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of a broader expansion while reinforcing its reputation as a space where diversity, inclusivity, and authenticity thrive.
“Becoming a nonprofit does not change our mission,” said Emaline Gayhart, Founder of tech night!. “What it does is allow people who believe in that mission to support it in new ways. The new nonprofit status will enable tech night! to accept donations in the near future. These contributions are not intended to be a requirement for members, but instead create an opportunity for individuals and organizations who wish to support the mission financially. Funds raised will go toward expanding programming, increasing accessibility, and strengthening the impact of tech night!’s events locally and globally.
“We are actively growing regardless,” Gayhart added, “but this transition helps us grow more sustainably. It allows us to expand thoughtfully while maintaining the authenticity and community focus that people have come to expect from tech night!.”
